Welcome to Table and Dish,
I’m Sally Roeckell. I work as a photographer, stylist, writer and recipe developer. I live in Barrington, IL, smack in the middle of the Midwest, just north of Chicago. I photograph people, food and life in my travels near and far. As a photographer and stylist I’m lucky to do a job professionally that I love.
At home, my husband Mark and I are on the front lines of raising four hungry, busy kids. Table and Dish is a blog site devoted to celebrating and curating the many ways that food binds us. There’s no doubt that food connects us in all ways. Just about every memory I have includes food in some form; Grandma’s house that smelled of veal stroganoff, oatmeal cookies and Ivory dish soap…

…Spice filled jars that lined the wall of my Mom’s shop. School lunches packed with bologna and homemade chocolate chip cookies. From campfires to the streets of Paris, it’s hard to find a memory that doesn’t involve a smell, taste or feel of food. Our senses record our journey.
